Manisha is an Artist, Writer, Poet,
IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) Professional (with 18
years experience) and a Training professional, who took
to Screenwriting and Filmmaking some 4 years ago and won
more than 225 Accolades & Awards internationally for her
short screenplays & films.
A pioneer in the field of IPRs (Intellectual Property
Rights) for grassroots creative communities in India in
2002-2003, she is also a pioneer in the field of
Happiness in India.
A “Happiness Entrepreneur”, she
founded LOGIHQ, a Happiness start up, in 2011 way ahead
of its times with the purpose of “lifting people to a
happier plane” (LOGIHQ’s motto) by helping them achieve
a higher form of Happiness through creativity. She
called this higher happiness “Intellectual
Happiness” (a term coined by her when she
founded LOGIHQ). She has been researching and writing on
Happiness since 2005 when she presented a paper as
an invited speaker, at the international conference,
INNOVASIA-2005, in Bangkok, Thailand where she
introduced the concept of “Grassroots Happiness” and her
paper “Happiness, the Foundation of
Sustainable Development” was accepted for
presentation at the 6th International Conference on
Gross National Happiness, BHUTAN (2015). Her
research later included well-being, enlightenment,
self-improvement and personality development. Has also
volunteered for happiness of terminally ill cancer
patients (children) with a reputed NGO.
Finally with screenwriting and filmmaking in the
last 4 years, adding Animation from the Artist in
her, she is combining all her varied skills (including
training) to communicate with the society at large and
spread the true meaning of Happiness. Her experimental
film “Happiness is…..” (2016), has won
more than 15 accolades globally.
As a self-taught Screenwriter and amateur Filmmaker she
has WON more than 225 Awards & Accolades at reputed
International Film Festivals (HOLLYWOOD, LOS-ANGELES,
BARCELONA, BEVERLY-HILLS, LAS-VEGAS, ITALY, LONDON,
MANHATTAN, BERLIN, RUSSIA, BRAZIL, UTAH, TOKYO, CANNES,
TEXAS, RHODE ISLAND, MOSCOW, VENICE etc.).
She began research work in the field of IPRs as early as
2002. As an Artist passionate about the Arts &
Crafts, she carried out consulting assignments for the UNITED
NATIONS (UN) in 2003-2004 to protect India’s rich
intangible cultural heritage & Traditional Knowledge (TK)
and Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) of
Artisan/grassroots communities and aimed at finding the
suitable legal instruments for community ownership of TK
in such clusters. Her focus has been on IPRs in creative
industries and knowledge based M/SMEs and Artisanal
clusters and on IPRs as a tool for economic & social
development leading to inclusive growth & empowerment,
particularly of women and grassroots creative
communities. Apart from Traditional Knowledge, her major
work has been on Geographical Indications (GIs). As part
of her UN work, she also created a roadmap and
innovative strategy for executing it at the grassroots
level. Consequently, “Chanderi” and “Kota
Doria” filed for GIs and are now registered (10th &
5th registered Indian GIs respectively).
As an IPR Trainer & Faculty, has trained vast & varied
audience (around 10,000 people including grassroots
people) in the areas of IPRs (including Trade Marks,
Copyrights, Patents, Geographical Indications),
Traditional Knowledge, IP & Development, Gender issues,
Quality & Branding, Social compliance, Entrepreneurship,
Motivation, Personality Development.
Her trainees ranged from the highest level government
officials & topmost professionals, personnel from
Rajasthan Police (under an MIT project), students
& faculty of engineering colleges from all over
Rajasthan, lawyers, doctors, various Rajasthan
Government department officials, senior & middle level
officers of Govt. of India, from all over India (as part
of APPPA) and senior & middle level Women
Scientists from all over India (as part of an IPR
training program of DST) right down to the
grassroots level people. She has delivered training
sessions as part of the HR Training component of Skill
Development Programmes of the Government of India for
the Handicrafts Sector at NCDPD, a centre of Ministry of
Textiles, for 5 years (2009-2014). Has also delivered
lectures at prestigious organizations/institutes (Indian
Institutes of Public Administration (HCM-RIPA in Jaipur
and IIPA in New Delhi)), Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA,
Jaipur), NID-Ahmedabad, MNIT, MAEIT, CCS University-Meerut,
AIHTM etc. She is also a Trained Mediator and on the
panel of Mediators/Neutrals of reputed international
organizations.
She has also trained Senior Officials of Ministries
from 15 countries at NIESBUD as part
of their International Training Programme on Small
Business Planning and Promotion at NIESBUD campus in Oct
2014. The officials were engaged in promotion of small
business and SME development in their respective
countries. The 15 countries were Russia, Mauritius,
Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan,
Madagascar, Mongolia, Nepal, Niger, Tunisia, Ghana,
Nigeria, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
As a SPEAKER she has been invited to speak at many
national/international conferences/seminars/workshops by
reputed organizations (WIPO, NID, FISME, BIA, UNCTAD,
CUTS-International, DST, FICCI, Govt. of Orissa, NCDPD,
EPCH, Quality Council of India etc.). She has had
papers accepted at many international conferences
abroad: INNOVASIA-2005 in Bangkok, Thailand (2005)
and her paper “Happiness, the Foundation of
Sustainable Development” at the 6th
International Conference on Gross National Happiness,
BHUTAN (2015). She moderated the panel discussion
session titled “Aspiring Entrepreneurship” at
the “Women in Leadership Forum–India-2010.”
As a prolific WRITER, her articles on IPRs, GIs, TK,
CSR, Entrepreneurship, Social & Business Responsibility
etc. have been published in leading Indian National
Dailies (Business Standard, Financial Express, Indian
Express, The Hindu, The New Indian Express etc.),
magazines (Down to Earth, Human Scape, SME World,
ITC-Geneva, Policy Business Brief etc.) and reputed
International publications. Her articles on Happiness,
enlightenment, self-improvement, spirituality & life
have been published in The Hindustan Times (Inner voice
column), Times of India (supplement Wellness times),
Savvy, Metro Now, The New Indian Express, Millennium
Post, TIME magazine Blog etc. Has around 100 articles
published. Has been a columnist with The Financial
Express- “SME World” for 3 years (2010-2013). As a Haiku
poet, she has been invited to mentor CBSE school
students in the art of Haiku writing at International
Writers’ Workshops last few years and also
conducted HAIKU writing workshop at D.P.S R.K. Puram.
She has also been invited to Judge Annual Poetry
competitions at D.P.S R.K Puram since 2015.
She has lived in JAPAN (Sapporo, HOKKAIDO) and
learnt the JAPANESE language, art & culture. She applies
the Japanese philosophy to work, life and Happiness.
KAIZEN & IKIGAI are two of her favourite Japanese
concepts. Her unique, innovative and first of a kind
Paintings on the JAPANESE SCRIPT formed an
exhibition titled “INDO-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP THROUGH
ART”, a Japanese Embassy endorsed event held at
the Japan Foundation, Delhi as part of the “Japan-India-Friendship
Year celebrations-2007”. She has also dabbled in
French. She has held other exhibitions and her
innovative paintings related to Intellectual Property
(IP) are displayed on the website of WIPO, Geneva.
Manisha belongs to Dehradun (Uttarakhand) having studied
in the best convent schools in Nainital & Dehradun
followed by higher studies from Dehradun. With an
educational background in Science, Math & Computers, she
is an M.Sc. in MATH (University Topper), PG
Diploma in Computer Applications and extensive research,
study & courses on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Since 2019 she has researched extensively, studied and
done courses on Mental Health, Depression, Anxiety, TA
(Transactional Analysis), NLP (Neuro Linguistic
Programming), Adolescent Behaviours, CBT (Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy), Cognitive Psychology, Therapeutic
Art etc. She is a Certified Therapeutic Art Life
Coach (US). She has a certification in Transactional
Analysis (UK).
She is continually redefining happiness in more
innovative ways and creating new strategies using all
her knowledge from Art & Math to Japanese concepts to
that of NLP, TA and Cognitive Psychology applying them
to the achievement of the simplest thing in life:
HAPPINESS, especially in light of this global pandemic
of the COVID-19, by understanding the intricate yet
simple workings of the human brain. Everyone talks about
the Art or Science of Happiness, but she has a concept
of the “Math of Happiness”.
In
light of the current scenario of the Coronavirus and the
resulting drastic increase in Mental Health issues such
as Depression & Anxiety globally, she is also trying to
strategize how she can help people incorporate a
“Happiness Routine” in their daily life so as to
cope with these tough times and keep the mind, heart &
soul happy & healthy.
The “LOGIHQ International Happiness Film Festival
& Exhibition, liHfe-2021” is her latest
initiative to generate happiness in the creators as well
as audiences. Through LOGIHQ she has been promoting
creators and their creativity, be it budding writers &
poets or now artists & short filmmakers.
